Dr. Antonietta Quigg currently serves as the Senior Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies and Regents Professor of Marine Biology at Texas A&M University at Galveston. Among other things, Dr.Quigg oversees the research enterprise on campus and works with the academic leadership to support graduate students with a current focus on elevating Blue Economy within the school’s leadership.

Dr. Quigg was born in Melbourne, Australia, earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and chemistry from La Trobe University and a PhD degree in ecology and evolutionary biology from Monash University, both in Australia. She joined Texas A&M in 2003 and has managed to develop a healthy and robust research program with funding from federal and state agencies and private organizations. She has supervised and funded numerous research students, many of who appear in her more than 170 publications!

On her down time, Dr.Quigg enjoys time with family and friends and loves food and travel.
